Frida Kahlo
The deceased historical woman that I choose to make a memorial for was the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. The first drawing/collage that I made was all of her significant paintings, events, and places. The second drawing is how the memorial will look like and i got my inspiration from one her chaotic, up and down type of life which is why i made it angular. The Holocaust Museum is also part of that inspiration.

1st ConceptFor my first concept(left) and for all of them in general has this in order sequence. For example the education building is going to go first for people to know who Frida is before going in to the memorial. And towards the end will be the action building which will be an art studio for painting, pottery, and sculpture, to simply do whatever they want to do just like Frida. I was also exploring with different types of shapes and twisting them around and combining buildings since it is in New York and it snows, windy, and sometimes rains that way the people wouldn't have to be outside in those conditions. But still do walk outside.

3rd Concept |
On the bottom is my second concept which the inly difference that it has from the first is that I just combined more of the buildings to just be two. And since New York is very compacted I will make a bus stop for tourist that don't have cars. There will also be a private parking for the researchers that will be staying on the site.

For my last design I decided on putting the memorial in a dome since there was a quote that she said something like if she would b able to be reincarnated she wouldn't choose her life again. So I wanted to enclose her life with just a little bit of opening on the top demonstrating that people don't want her life but yet are fascinated by it.
