Sergio Tamez : Architectural Design I
Project 01: Fibonacci Cube
Driving Question
How are scale and proportion used to create spatial relationships and generate useful dynamic architectural form.
We were told to make three of a kind three plane models using the Fibonacci sequence. We where assigned this project so we can see how different alignments of planes make different kind of spaces.

Project 2: Tower design
Driven Question
How can architecture serve as a useful tool of communication in the Borderlands between the US and Mexico? We were assign to make a tower that would elevate our Fibonacci cube 30 ft in the air and have a way of communicate along the border. |
The tower was made with a unstable looking base representing the tensions between the two countries its caring a jewel that represents the best aspects of their country.
My final model was made out of basswood and was shape in to a jewel to symbolize to precious jewels representing both countries . I wanted to make my communication device unique so i designed it where my top and bottom planes glow and blink in a sequence of patterns like mores code. This way the towers can communicate between each other but also along their side of the border.
