Catalytic Age - Historical Forces Project The Enlightenment Era was a time of philosophy, science, and thinking. During the "long 18th century" (1618-1815), participants referred to this movement as the Age of Reason. Numerous books, essays, inventions, discoveries, and revolutions emerged during this time period. At the very beginning of this era, the Thirty Years War begun. This war is the main influence of my project. My client, whose ancestors fought in the war, wanted a garden to enable him to reflect back on the war and remember what his ancestors had fought for. My Enlightenment Era garden consists of pathways, areas of relaxation and contemplation, rows of garden symbolizing structure, and a fountain reflecting the war.
