Project One
Our objective for this project was to design a structure that would provide a place for survivors of Hurricane Katrina to go to after they arrived back at their former homes. I decided to base my design around the idea of process and looked heavily into the way that factories and gantry cranes work. The final version of the project took raw materials and through the work of the community would enable the community to rebuild again.
Project Two
Our objective for this project was to solve the issue of community health in the Lower Ninth Ward. We were able to choose how health is defined ourselves and how our building of choice would address those issues. I chose to answer this issue by designing a nature center that would involve the community and would allow the community to have a place to not only learn about nature but also to learn more about personal health.
