Project 01
For this project we looked at binaries and how we could make them. We started off by drawing a binary and adding more things to it. After that we moved to a larger scale drawings. We soon moved to model building and working in SketchUp.
Preliminary Work
We explored binaries around the school to see how binaries were used in real life architecture. These are some pictures that I documented.
For this project I decided to work with the binary Irregular/Regular. First I started by working on sketch paper. Once I had gotten an idea I worked on paper. I later built the model which helped me understand the idea of Irregular/regular. Then I finished up in Sketchup.
Project 02
For this project our task was to create a house for a certain client. This house must reach all of the clients standards and meet their needs for the house. Each student got a client who did some kind of work. For example on student might have to make a house for a Plumber, a Mechanic, ect. I had to make a house for a Novelist. This client wanted lots of bookshelves and places to read. I had to incorparate her wants into the house. I also had to add reading rooms into to the house to fit her job. We started to make paper drawings and then moved to SketchUp. We began to finish the project when we started using Revit.

During this project we had to constantly generate new ideas and ways to gain a new perspective. Looking at other buildings and spaces was a way to help inspire us. For me I liked looking at reading rooms, libraries, and windows for inspiration.

Overall this project was challenging while at the same time being fun. This was one of the first times I had to create a house by myself. I liked having to manage my own time and being able to do basically anything I wanted to do with my house.

I loved how in this project creativity was encouraged. It really helped me realize that I can create things that I didn't think I could make. I also loved how I could use inspirations to help shape some of my ideas so that i could add them into my house.
