Hejduk Project
For the first project of the semester we elaborated on concept drawings from Jhon Hejduk.
I was assigned the 'Useless House' , the house were inhabited by the 'Useless'. The house was filled with multiple rooms were the Useless could not enter. They Could only look into the room from a circular window on the door. The Useless also had plaques on the wall where they touched they felt "life".

Korean City Project
For our second project, the Practicum Architectural Design Class or PAD started to pick a spot for a fictional city on the North and South Korean server that we would be designing. After they picked out an area and divided it into 3 districts we were put into teams. Once in those teams we started to make special buildings in those districts.
I started to design a school / learning center for North Korean people to help adapt to the outside world. Language classes, Financial and economic, and job training classes. The Building has 3 floors with the 3rd having access to the roof which is an eating area for students. 2nd floors are dedicated to mostly classrooms while the 1st has the main entrance with open areas for studying and more classrooms. After my first set of concepts I am starting to move into a nature orientated way. I am currently working on elaboration on my concepts and will soon start working on my final designs. |

Final Designs
As I finished my project my school building incorporated many windows providing the structure with Natural Light throughout the building. As a student goes through the school each floor represents a sort of progress with the first floor being the basics of society outside of North Korea, language classes, Basic Math, History, and English. With the 3rd floor being job training as a final step for students to be ready for the outside world. My plans consist of 4 elevations, floor plans for each of my 3 floors, 2 sections as well as site plans and renderings. I will now soon be starting on my 4th class for architecture starting next semester. |
