Each new situation requires a new architecture.
-Architect Jean Nouvel
Coursework this semester will focus on the creation of architecture that responds to two different scales and conditions within our lives -- local and global. This investigation will allow us to explore and understand how architecture responds to various forces acting on it. Local and global conditions will be explored in two related projects, each specifically addressing one of these scales/conditions. Through the development of individual and studio-wide research, students will examine architecture's role in multiple facets of our daily lives, including:
- Work
- Leisure
- Culture
- Technology
- Communication
- Power and Influence
