PROJECT 01: MARIO BOTTA STUDY
Mario Botta is a Swiss architect who was born on April 1st, 1943, in Mendrisio, Switzerland. His ideas were heavily influenced by Le Corbusier, Louis Kahn, and Carlo Scarpa. His signature style is built on a basis of strong geometric forms, and a deep connection to the surrounding environment.
Project 01 was a house study. I was given the task of studying Mario Botta's Casa Rotonda, or "The Round House."
The Casa Rotonda is a two-story home designed for a single family. It is located in Ticino, Switzerland. In the project, I had to create a concept drawing of Mario Botta's design philosophies and background, a floor plan from Casa Rotonda, a parti diagram, two program diagrams, an elevation of Casa Rotonda, and I had to design and draw a perspective of an exhibit space for Botta.

PROJECT 02: ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE SAFE HOUSE
Project 02 was about designing a house to survive in the zombie apocalypse. I wanted a priority on defense, so I created a rectangular modern castle-like structure. It has no exterior windows on the first floor, four windows facing the garage on the second floor, and the third floor consists of three open watchtowers. All of the exterior windows do not have glass, because eventually it would shatter, and create a hazard for us in the event of a shootout. The roof is covered with solar panels for electricity, while also being slanted for the collection of rainwater. Because rainwater is not a viable water source for multiple people, I also included two wells on the property; one in the courtyard and one in the backyard.
However, I did not want to be completely cut off from the outside, so I removed a space from the center to create a courtyard. This allows me to have a controlled outside area to relax that can double as an agricultural area should the need arise.
The walled backyard area was designed for both containing my livestock of goats and chickens, along with growing crops outside and inside a greenhouse.
The garage was designed to be a safe place for me to interact with someone from the outside world in an environment I can control
