What Damage Did Hurricane Katrina Cause?
Damage was mainly to windows and basements, caused by high winds and flooding. The buildings with window damage often suffered interior wind and water damage. Most damage was caused on the eastern facades of buildings.It is estimated that Katrina completely destroyed or made uninhabitable 300,000 homes.

Hurricanes: Future Projections
Scientists say with the increase of temperature there will be higher sea levels,and flood streets in New York City. Temperatures are expected to jump 4.1 to 5.7 degrees by the 2050s, and by the 2080s, it could be 8.8 degrees hotter than the current average of 54 degrees, according to a study by the New York City Panel on Climate Change. The group warns us that sea levels will increase 11 to 21 inches by the 2050s, 18 to 39 inches by the 2080s, and 22 to 50 inches by 2100.
