Preliminary design drawings

All preliminary designs were put in Sketchup

The first and fifth designs were 3-D printed.

The final design was a combination of the first and sixth designs.

And finally, a physical model was created.

9 SQUARE GRID HOUSE

We started out by looking at what could be done using the 9 square grid arrangement.

For this project, we were encouraged to create crazy ideas for our clients. I decided to go with the idea of filming a show in this house. At first the designs I came up with were relatively conventional, but that was soon replaced by the idea of arranging rooms so the camera can see through one wall into the room.

Here is where my design came next. the Idea here was to figure out how big all the rooms would be, then arrange them around a central camera space. her I had two design ideas, one with the camera in a square space in the center, and one with the camera in a space running from front to back.

I decided to go with the front to back design so as to conserve horizontal space on the site. my final design was basically the second design, but flipped front to back and with some rooms moved. after that, the design was model in Revit.

The last thing done was to create a physical model at 1/8 inch scale.
