Practicum class 2016
Project 01; Verbs, Binaries, Form
For our first project we researched Architectural Verbs, Binaries and we looked at Form. At first the verbs and binaries seemed kinda confusing, I did not fully understand what exactly we were going to be doing with them. We researched for a couple of weeks and developed study models and diagrams for the binaries, we slowly increased our understanding of them. The architectural verbs we researched as well, we were to use these in our binaries to express the binary through form and these verbs. The end product was a unique experience, we were to make 12" cube models and 36 X 36" Mylar ink drawings. We were to use our understanding of Verbs, Binaries, and Form to develop these and present them to judges.

Project 02; Museum
For our second project we had to design a architectural museum in Dallas arts district. We had to research the surrounding area and use it in our museums. We took a trip to the actual site which allowed us to document the surround areas and get a feel for what it would be like. The overall process of making the museum was quite difficult in that we had to make a use for every space while making look visually pleasing. We had to include private and public areas which included literally everything a museum has; Bathrooms, exhibit space, storage space, offices, etc. We had a whole bunch of problems we had to overcome, our main problem was space, we a long site but not thick at all. This made me want a vertical museum. Our final challenge was the presentation, we had to present in front of a five architect jury. Most of us got feedback good and bad from this.
