Part 1
The Atomic/Space age
Garden
All of the information here is all of my research, work, and final documentation of the Atomic/ Space age garden project assigned to us for the spring 2016 semester. This semester for our first project we had a random draw out of four ages throughout history, the Enlightenment age, Industrial age, Information age, and Atomic/ Space age. I selected the Atomic/ Space age which to me had an infinite number of opportunities that I could use in a garden. After lots of research I came up with the theme that I wanted to use as the base of my garden. Earth, how during this specific time period we went into space and saw earth for the first time which raised concerns for our environment and what our future would be like if we kept on our current path. Now I could start drafting and working on my ideas that would be used for the garden. Lots of designs came from that some were completely scrapped and others saved for later. After lots of planning and work I had an Idea and a time period, now I could create a client that I could work with for my garden.

Part 2
The Shift age
House
Now that part one of the semester's project was over I could now work on a house for my client to go along with my garden. The theme of this house "The Shift Age" an idea that we are in a time when humanity will change how we live, think, interact with each other and what we do, or in other words look to the future of housing. The idea was for me to create my perspective of the shift age and show it in the form of the house of the future while also connecting to the garden of the past. After lots of research and studying I had finally come up with the theme for my shift age house and how I was going to apply it. The shift age is a healthy blend of objects, ideas, technology, and a new way of thinking that come together to form a new era, that's what I wanted my house to represent in this phase of the project. Now that I was done with my theme it was time to get to work on the more technical aspect of my design.
