Sustainable Architecture:
Sustainable architecture is architecture that seeks to minimize the negative environmental impact of buildings by efficiency and moderation in the use of materials, energy, and development space and the ecosystem at large. Sustainable architecture uses a conscious approach to energy and ecological conservation in the design of the built environment.
Site Plan
The first step was to find the best spot for my project. My idea was to find a space for a sustainable community that was accessible to anyone. I wanted the residents living in my community to feel connected with nature and to make the least amount of impact to the environment. After looking around and changing my site 3 times i finally found the right one which is right off Mountain creek pkwy in the DFW area it has a perfect ridge that would allow the homes to have very little impact on the environment.
community centerFor the community center I tried to keep them integrated with the ground so it would look like it belongs with the homes. I did this by having a roof that would slowly slope to the ground allowing people to walk out and have a fun path way and also allow water to flow form the top of the roof to collection bins at the bottom.

residential homesFor the residential homes I wanted them to be integrated in to the ground to lower the foot print of the community, and to allow lower the amount of electricity used because there would be no need for Air conditioning.

Exploration Of My Ideas:
Site Plan
After I found the perfect site I began to place all the buildings in the the perfect spots to allow someone to fell like they are in a privet area but also not be alone. and i also wanted each home to have a great view of the community center. To make sure that all the homes where in the right spot I printed out a a topographical map of my site allowing me to "teleport" in my site to beater understand what it looks like.
