Project 1
For my first project in Architectural Design, I had the Robie House, a prairie style house build in the southern part of Chicago desgined by Architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Wright was very big in Chicago in the early 20th century mainly designing prairie style homes. What I had to do was recreate this house by drawing out elevations and floor plans in AutoCAD. I really enjoyed this project and I did have some trouble along the way but it was a great experience to see what process these architects went through to make this project successful.
Project 2
For my second and final project in Architectural Design, we had to design our own house referencing to a specific vernacular house. I choose the Dogtrot house and I continued from that and designed my own house for modern times. My house turned out to be somewhat successful and I learned alot from the architects that came to evaluate our progress. I think I can branch off of what they said and design my next project in the future with the good information that they gave me.
