TimelineApril 1, 1943 Mario Botta was born in Mendrisio, Switzerland. He was born on April Fool's too.
1969 Mario Botta attended the Universita Iuav di Venezia in Venice, Italy. 1980-1982 Casa Rotonda was built in Stabio, Ticino, Switzerland and is a very cool circular house. 1995 The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), in San Francisco, California, USA, is a beautiful work of architecture from Mario Botta. 1991-1996 Evry Cathedral, built in Evry, France and has a cool cut cylinder shape that is shown in Mario Botta's Church of San Giovanni Battista and the SFMOMA. 1996 The Jean Tinguely Museum in Basel, Switzerland has a cool lighter brick than Mario Botta usually uses. 2003 Torre Kyobo in Seoul, South Korea, is very cool because it looks is if there were two buildings and then they got connected by one big brick. 2013 Granato Chapel built in Penkenjoch, Zillertal, Austria is a big hexagonal prism made out of brick. 1959-Present Mario Botta's working life started in 1959 and has gone in since; that is over 50 years! 1995-Present Mario Botta has been making beautiful single family homes in Canton, Ticino, Switzerland for a long time. |
