CRAFT IS "AN ACTIVITY INVOLVING EXPERT SKILL IN MAKING FUNCTIONAL OBJECTS BY HAND." THIS SEMESTER WE EXPLORED CRAFT BY DESIGNING A BIRDHOUSE AND A RESIDENCE. FROM ANXNOMETRICS TO LATTICE'S TO RESIDENCES WE EXPLORED CRAFT IN MANY DIFFRENT FORMS AND GOT TO EXPERIMENT WITH THINGS.

BIRDHOUSEOUR FIRST CRAFT ASSIGMENT WAS TO BUILD A TEMPORARY RESDIENCE FOR A BIRD WE GOT AT RANDOM. MY CLIENT WAS A BLACKPOLL WARBLER, WHILE DOING REASEASRCH ON MY CLIENT I GOT A BUNCH OF INSPIRATION FOR MY HOUSE.

We started with making many concept and partis until we found one we wanted to stick with.

My birdhouse was constantly changing, with more research and critiques I found many things I could change to make my bird house more functional for my client.

My final model came out nicely I knew I wanted a clean and organic piece and that is exactly what I finished with.

OLD ALTON BRIDGE DEAN'S RESIDENCEOur second craft project was to build a residence for the dean of a craft college. We made a client profile and then a final poster with all of the projects elements in it.

The first step into this project was to make a client collage, this really helped you see what sort of elements you might want to add to your residence.

Each client studied a specific craft and my clients craft was culinary, I worked hard to bring in those details in my case it was layering everything to look almost like a cake.
