Denial Thang: Architectural Design I
My classmates and I were assigned to make a backyard cottage for a competition. We each had the opportunity to design the backyard cottage off our client and site plan that we got from spinning a wheel. I had received a stained glass artist and site 02A for the project. I researched and studied about backyard cottages and how they were supposed to look like, so I started to get to work. A stained glass artist likes natural lighting, so I tried to add a necessary amount of windows to each side of the walls, even some skylights. The structure of the backyard cottage is based off of the main house.
Craft Investigation
I started off my project by researching the word "craft" so we could have a more brief explanation of the word. Once I understood that a craft was workmanship with handheld elements I looked up topics and pictures about that specific topic. With the information that I found I place it all on a Padlet.
Concept Design
Concept 01 - For my concept design I wanted to make the house seem kind of like a cabin, so I added wood around it. Later on I looked at the design and thought it looked pretty bland, so I placed some brick on the house.
Concept 02 - For my second concept design I added in two skylights to the house. One on the kitchen and the other shining on the workroom.

Schematic Design
Craft can mean various things in this world, but the architectural definition "To craft” is to make or manufacture an object with skill and careful attention to detail." I had done this by planning out the building and making the model with chipboard.

Final Design
For my final design I have arranged the walls in a square like model. I added a few curves on the model to create more warm and inviting rooms. I had also added a brick wall on the right side of the front view because it's more efficient for cracks or anything in case there is an issue in the restroom.
